One of the most controversial and fascinating figures in Greek mythology. Today, she is remembered as the Gorgon with the monstrous face and the gaze that could turn people to stone, but her origins tell a different story: that of a young priestess consecrated to Athena.
Legend has it that Medusa was a beautiful woman, with long, shining hair and a face that enchanted anyone who looked at her. But her grace attracted the gaze of Poseidon, who raped her in Athena's temple. Instead of punishing the god, the goddess struck Medusa, transforming her into a terrifying creature: her hair became snakes, her face a deadly weapon, and her solitude an eternal exile.
What was once a pure priestess thus became a symbol of horror. But behind the myth of the monster remains the trace of a victim: punished for a fault that was not hers, condemned by divine injustice.
