Daphne is a figure in Greek mythology, a naiad, a freshwater nymph, known for her tragic escape from Apollo. The god fell in love with her after being struck by an arrow from Eros, but Daphne did not reciprocate his love and wanted to remain free. Desperate to escape, she asked for help from her father, the river god Peneus, who transformed her into a laurel tree just as Apollo was about to reach her. The grieving god declared that the laurel would become his sacred plant, a symbol of glory and triumph.
The ring inspired by Daphne is a tribute to her story and destiny. The two stylised branches evoke the laurel, the symbol of her transformation, while the blue labradorite recalls her essence as a water nymph and the final gesture of her metamorphosis, her leap towards the sky.
This jewel is not only an aesthetic tribute to the legend, but part of a collection that celebrates women from Greek mythology who suffered injustice and repression, but who also embody strength, resistance and transformation.
